Friction between the piston and the cylinder wall can be neglected. Assume the atmospheric pressure remains constant. The local acceleration of gravity is 32.2 ft/s2. For the air in the cylinder determine (a) the pressure of the air in the cylinder in psi, and (b) the heat transfer, Q, during the process in BTU, if the final specific internal energy is 125 BTU/lb . (c) Based upon your result in part (b), in which direction does the heat transfer occur?
