describes the 6 stages of moral development by Kohlberg. It is further broken down into pre-coventional, conventional post conventional levels.
Which of the 6 stages do you identify with the most and why?
Answer: I feel that I identify most with the stage 4 which is “Law and order orientation” that falls under level 2 “Conventional”. This stage is marked with the blind acceptance of the rules and conventions in order to preserve the societal order and functioning. Here rules are considered same for all and people are supposed to consider them as important and follow them. There is a type of obligation and duty to uphold the rules and regulations. I identify with this stage mainly because I have a tendency to follow the accepted rules and norms of the society in which I live. I do not dare to oppose the rules and regulations and I strictly follow the conventions. I believe in maintaining law and order and expect that the others will also do the same. I have a strict sense of obedience towards the duties that are assigned to me and I follow the instructions and do not violate them. This in my behavior I reflect most of the characteristics of this stage as defined by Kohlberg.
