Answer #1

My work environment is a democratic work environment, as everyone participates in decision making process. There are many advantages of democratic work environment. The first advantage is that it involves everyone in the decision making process, so employees feel to be involved and motivated. The second advantage is the contribution in the decision that brings empowerment to the employees. The third advantage is the use of feedback process where management can rectify or modify the decisions if it does not go well for the organization. Though, it has the disadvantages of delay in decision making process, and getting many divergent views to make it difficult for the decision to take. In comparison to it, autocratic work environment has the advantage of clear line of command, centralized management and guiding employees when they cannot take the decisions. The disadvantages are demotivating the employees, lack of employee friendly policies and high turnover rates in the organization. Advantages of the laissez-faire work environment are the delegation of authority to the employees so work as they want, promoting innovation, decentralized decision making process and creativity as well as developing self regulating team in the organization. The disadvantages are the scope of deviation from the organizational goals and higher scope of employees making mistakes.
