Answer #1

Unionization is the process of organizing the employees of an organization into a labor union. It acts as an intermediary between employees and employers. Unionization is an integral part of a company and I support it. Unionization helps workers unite and fight for their rights and negotiate for more favorable working conditions.

Advantages of Unions:-

1. Trade unions help to bargain for higher wages and overcoming unfair trade practices

2. Unions can present workers in front of tribunals

3. A trade union can help a firm to bring in new working practices which can help increase productivity.

4. Unions help bring workers closer to management.

5. It also helps to increase motivation and productivity

Disadvantages of Unions:-

1. Powerful unions can lead to lost productivity by strikes.

2. Unions can also push up wages which leads to inflation.

3. Collective bargaining sometime becomes time-consuming.

4. It increases the high labor costs.

5. It also leads to more lawsuits and arbitrations.

Bargaining issues:- Collective bargaining is the process of negotiation between the employer and a group of employees. There are a lot of bargaining issues such as wages, job security, pension holidays, job performance and discrimination in treatment.

The most important out of these is the issue of wages and Job security. Everybody needs timely salary and job security in order to run their house. A secure job puts you at a lower risk of losing your job. A person is much more willing to put in extra hours at the office if he feels that his financial rewards are fair.

Grievance process: - A grievance process is a process of internal dispute resolution through which an employee may have his or her grievances addressed.

Advantages of a grievance process:

1. It encourages the employees to raise their concerns without any fear

2. It provides a way to deal with grievances fairly and speedily.

3. It prevents minor disagreement from converting into more serious disputes.

4. It helps in addressing employees' frustration and discontent

Disadvantages of a grievance process:

1. A formal grievance process can be time-consuming.

2. It can be expensive to take legal action.

3. It can also lead to conflict among employees

4. Inclusion of a third-party arbitrator can lead to loss of control of a situation
