Difference between diversity and multiculturalism:

Diversity is defined as the differences between people. Diversity can be real or perceived differences between people. These differences include but are not limited to race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and socioeconomic status. In a diverse world, people acknowledge the differences that exist among individuals.

Multiculturalism is more complex than simply noticing the diversity or differences that exist in society. Multiculturalism focuses on being inclusiveness, understanding, respecting, and acknowledging unequal power in society. Furthermore, people are aware of the advantages or disadvantages of being a particular, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion or socioeconomic status is society. In a multicultural world, people accept and embrace the differences of others into their lives.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is the agency responsible for enforcing federal laws regarding discrimination or harassment against a job applicant or an employee in the United States. The EEOC was formed by Congress to enforce Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. It is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and has 52 other field offices throughout the United States.

What does EEOC do:

EEOC investigates complaints of job discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), national origin, disability, age (40 or older), or genetic information. If we believe an employer is violating our laws, we take action to stop the discrimination. In some cases, the employer agrees to make certain changes to its workplace. In other cases, we sue the employer in court to fix the problem.

We also work to prevent discrimination before it occurs. We give presentations to employees and employers about the laws we enforce. We also write documents about equal employment opportunity laws and rules to help applicants, employees, and employers understand their rights and responsibilities at work.

We also work with other federal agencies. We answer questions, develop educational material, and conduct training on employment discrimination laws and rules.

What types of group of people does it strive to work:

It strive to work all types of people irrespective of the sex, caste, creed and discrete.
