Debbie and Jim are thinking about having children but have a family history of Huntington’s disease on Jim’s side. Jim is now 35 and shows no symptoms (yet). After having Jim tested, tests showed that Jim is heterozygous for the disease. What are the chances that Jim would pass this dominant allele to his children with Debbie? Show all probabilities for genotypes that would result in this disease.

Huntington's disease is an autosomal dominant disease i.e , presence of one mutated allele say H is enough to cause the disease. Since the question says that Jim is heterozygous, it means he has one mutated allele and one normal allele i.e., Hh. Hi wife Debbie is normal as nothing about her family having Huntington is said . So she is hh. As I said, it's a autosomal dominant allele, so people having genotype HH or Hh will have the disease whereas people who are hh are normal. tih は1n. Huntingtons degan Debbie Hh nh 2 2
