Three standard half-cells are constructed from unknown metals X(s), Y(s) , and Z(s) and their ions X2+(aq) ,Y2+(aq) , and Z2+(aq) . Different combinations of the three half-cells are tried when constructing various electrochemical cells. The following information is obtained from the different combinations:

• An X(s)|X2+(aq) standard half-cell attracts anions when the other standard
half-cell is Y(s)|Y
2+(aq). The ?E0 = 0.50V.

• In a standard cell between X(s) and Z(s), the cathode is X(s) and the E0net = 0.014V.

Determine the cathode, anode, and net cell potential of a standard cell between Y(s)|Y2+(aq) and Z(s)| Z2+(aq).
