Ans. Immune system cells are only located in the cortex.

Lymph node is secondary lymphoid organs which removes antigens trapped in the lymph fluid and the blood stream. it is encapsulated contains 3 regions - cortex,para cortex and medulla.

lymph node have several afferent vessels from which the lymph enters into the lymph node and efferent vessel from which filtered lymph enters into circulation.

once lymph enters into lymphnode through afferent vessele it channeled toward the hilus.

lymphnode is surrounded by capsule and inside the lymph node is compartmentalized by trabeculae.

the Three regions are rich with immune cells and these cells are actively participated in removal of antigens from lymph.

once lymph enters into node, it passes the cortex where cortex is rich with B cells, macrophages, dendritic cells. once they encounters the antigen they develop a germinal center. after the cortex lymph enters into paracortex which is rich with T cells and dendritic cells and move towards the Medulla which contains Plasma cells secrete antibodies. once the lymph passes these three compartments the antigens get trapped in the lymph node, now the filtered lymph Passes through the medullary sinus and leaves through efferent vessel and enters into circulation.
