· Why did you choose this title?
In today’s modern world technology is widely used be it at home or in businesses not this scenario has given birth to new age problems. Though we cannot deny the fact that technology has a lot of benefits, however, it also comes with a negative side. One of this is cyber bullying. Cyber bullying is the misuse of information technology with the intention to harass or harm other people. It is also known as online bullying.
Cyber bullying has been increase common among adolescents/teenagers since the advancement of technology. This problem is even linked to teen depression and tragedies of suicide. Nowadays the effects if this crime is indeed damaging to the life and reputation of individuals and their families who become victims of these online offenders.
This kind of situation led me to choosing this problem that I may take a closer look and dig deeper on this issue that concerns me not only as an internet user but as a student as well. It may also lead me to gaining a wide knowledge or understanding of this issue, thus, somehow in my own way share valuable information that would be of help to others specially my fellow student.
· Who is/are your beneficiary/ies?
The study of this problem would benefit the following:
Government Leaders, as they think of laws and programs that will further help and protect the victims of cyber bullying. They will be more aware of its existence and effects. This will provide assurance on the kind and the foundation of laws and programs they will make.
Community people, they will learn more information about cyber bullying and its effects. Specially on the psychosocial development of adolescents or teenagers. Thus, be able to apply these in dealing with cyber bullying crimes existing in their communities.
Schools (Teachers/School personnel), This will acquire knowledge that will be useful in dealing with students experiencing this problem and help in the campaign against cyber bullying.
Family Members, Having an understanding about cyber bullying. The family as the basic unit of the society will be able to protect their family members who might be experiencing this or prevent a member of their family for becoming a future victim of this online offence.
