Discuss our progress in submitting our assignments this week. How did you find

1) setting longer term goals,

2) setting short term academic goals, and

3) anticipating obstacles? Also, how do the results of your Stress Processing Inventory affect these three lists?

Setting goals is one of the most important things which we need to acheive in our life. There are two types of goals ie Long term goals and Short term goals. These goals are the target which needs to be acheived in a particular amount of time to reach the target. These goals should be realistic and attainable. If we keep on dreaming the things which are not attainable then we are wasting out time. To attain goals, one needs to plan properly, that what will be the process to acheive and reach the target.

Long term goals are those goals which are the things needs to be done in future.It requires proper planning and scheduling of all the activities which needs to be done to reach the target. This type of goals usuallt take 10-12 months to acheive. Long term goals can be acheived by noting down all the things which needs to be done, all checking that list periodically every month or every week and according to that making changes in that list. By creating a picture of where you see yourself in 5-10 years. By setting priorities in the work front and dealing with important work first to maintain a balance in the work and real life. It is very difficult to set long term goals because this require constant updation and regular check, which is rearly possible for those who are handling many work at one time,but someone who is just focusing on the goals and knows what needs to done can acheive their goals.

Short term goals are those goals which needs to be fulfilled right now or in few days or a month. This type of goals requires continuous attention, and to fulfill these goals they have to dedicate proper time and resources effectively. These goals can be from completing a whole chapter to buying new motorbike. For setting academic goals one needs to have complete knowledge of their studies and should revise the work regularly as required. They should have proper time dedicated to studies as well as other extra curricular activities. One should complete the whole syllabus and should conducts some tests to check their knowledge within a time duration.

People faces lots of difficulties in setting their long term and short term goals.In long term goals, The time, Work load, pressure of acheiving that goal, high expectation from relative and friends, stress and a lot of medical activities can be an issue. Since it require constant attentio, proper planning must be there. In short term goals, setting goals which are not attainable which leads to failure and demotivated, not giving proper time, not setting realistic goals. Stress can reduce the performance level and reduce the efficiency of the work which will make the goal difficult to attain and acheive. So stress can only lead to damage and ruin the whole planning and work, one should not take any mental pressure which will also cause serious health related problem.
