List α, Cu, Fe, H2, β, Mg, and χ in order of their relative reactivity. |
Metals release valence electrons and each differs in how they do it. Some can release electrons easier than others and this is called activity. The activity series is a way in which the elements are arranged according to the ability to release electrons.
The reactivity of metals will also depend on this. The most active metals will be able to displace other metals (less active) found in a solution.
So the order of relative reactivity of metals given in the problem is as follows:
Β > Mg > Fe> χ > H2 > Cu > α

The general solution to the second-order differential equation d2ydt2−4dydt+7y=0d2ydt2−4dydt+7y=0 is in the form y(x)=eαx(c1cosβx+c2sinβx).y(x)=eαx(c1cosβx+c2sinβx). Find the values of αα and β,β, where β>0.β>0.Answer: α=α= and β=β=
Which of the following are correct? Justify your answer. Note that in order to answer if α╞ β find the models M(α) in which α is true, similarly find the models M(β) in which β is true and then check whether M(α) is a subset of M(β) or not. (a) (A ^ B) ╞ (A⇔B) (b) (A⇔B) ╞ (A∨B) (c) (A⇔B) ╞ (¬A∨B)
Predict the relative order of reactivity of the indicated carbonyl compounds in reactions with nucleophiles (1 = most reactive carbonyl electrophile). Use all three logic arguments of organic chemistry (resonance, inductive and steric). Show structures, lone pairs and arrow-pushing conventions in your answer to provide an explanation for your order of reactivity. Write the expected product in a reaction with lithium aluminium deuteride, LiAlD4, followed by workup (no mechanisms) Name 2. Predict the relative order of reactivity of the indicated...
Relative Reactivity of Metals and the Activity Series Post Lab Questions You observed the relative reactivity of the following metals. a. Hg reacts with HNO, but not with HCl, hot or cold water. b. Al reacts slowly with hot (100 °C) water. c. Sr reacts with cold water. d. Cd reacts with HCI but not with hot or cold water. Write the mini-activity series (left to right) for these 4 metals (most active on right), least active most active Indicate...
Arrange the three metals (Zinc, Copper, Iron) and hydrogen in order of their decreasing relative reactivity and justify the order. Use symbols >, =, when appropriate. Briefly explain the basis of the order you selected.
Does the ordering of activity series Mg, Zn, Fe, Cu, Ag agree with the ionization energies of the elements? Why or why not? selecuul UI e vunum 14. Since the activity series describes the propensity for a metal to lose electrons one might think that ionization energies could predict the activity series. Ionization energies are measured in the gas phase and have the following values for the metals used in this laboratory: Reaction Ag (5) ► Agt (g) + 1...
