A gas is placed in a 5.0-mL syringe. It exerts 149 mm Hg of pressure on the inside walls of the syringe. The syringes plunger is pressed, reducing the volume of the syringe to 2.8 mL. The cap was not removed from the syringe, so none of the gas escapes. Assuming the temperature of the gas does not change, use Boyles law (below) to determine the pressure of the compressed gas. v1= 5ml

P2= ?

V2= 2.8ml

P1V1= P2V2

149*5= P2*2.8

P2= 266.07 mm of Hg
