How to make gmo corn? a step by step process how you would achieve this. (which vectors, plasmids, DNA, organisms, mode of injecting new DNA).
Hi,
The GMO corn is produced by Monsanto company to develop insect resistance in corn. The idea was to insert the Cry1AB gene from bacteria Bacillus thuringensis into corn, which will make it resistant to insect infestation.
The gene of interest is PCR amplified and purified from the source bacteria. The isolated gene is restriction digested with desired enzymes such as BamH1 or EcoR1. It is now ready to insert into a plasmid. A suitable plant plasmid such as pCAMBIA is used to carry the gene into the corn via agrobacterium. The gene is ligated with the plamsid and multiplied inside another bacteria Agrobacterium. Here the gene is amplified along with the plasmid and multiple copies are made. These are now extracted and coated onto micro tungsten beads. These beads are bombarded under pressure onto the vegetative tissue like leaf of corn. The bombarded tissue is used as Ex plant for tissue culture. A proper callus is allowed to form and slowly new shoots emerges. This is now confirmed for the presence of gene of interest. If it is positive, then we have created a GMO corn.

you have heard about three different vectors to clone DNA fragments (plasmids, BACs, and YACs). Which of these would be most appropriate to clone a DNA fragment with the length of 5,000 bp, and which would be most appropriate for a fragment of 200,000 bp? The genome of fruit flies has a size of about 175 Mbp. Assuming that each base pair has a height of 3 Angstrom (1 Angstrom is 10^-10 m), how long is the genome of a...

Consider Lewin's three-step process. Which of the three steps do you thin would be hardest to do? how might experience help develop a manager's ability to use this change process? ( at least 400 words).
you want to make RNA in vitro, how would you do that? meaning what would you add to get RNA in PCR instead of DNA
Name 3 changes you could make to your diet that would help you achieve a healthier eating pattern. (10 pts)
Gick and Holyoak consider which of the following to be the most difficult step to achieve in the process of analogical problem solving? Select one: a. Noticing that there is an analogous relationship between problems because most participants need prompting before they notice a connection b. Mapping corresponding parts between the problems because the elements are difficult to identify c. Applying the mapping to generate a parallel solution because of the difficulty in generalizing from one problem to another d....

How can you use PCR in the process of generating recombinant DNA. Why would we need to add a restriction enzyme site onto a fragment of interest in the process of generating recombinant DNA? Why would you benefit from adding two different enzyme sites to a given fragment?
how would i do this code in MATLAB Step 2: Coding You are given a vector t. We define x = di cos(it) 16 Yi = 1:1.sin(i-1) for i = 1,2,...,15,16 where multiplication of vectors is assumed to be point-wise. Create a 4x4 subplot. - In the ith location, plot the values of x; versus y; with a solid line (pick a color). - Make the axis tight Run the code a few times before submitting. Note that the size...
