When comparing an E.coli wild type bacteria to its mutant strain, A t-test was used to compare their antbiotic susceptibility. The "p" value of the T-test was 0.497. In comparison, another mutant was compared to the wild type and the "p" value was 0.385.

1- How would you describe the differences between the wild type and mutant?

2- If there is a "p" value of 1, does that suggest a significant difference between wild type and mutant?

Although t-tests can also be used to compare means, they are limited to comparing two at a time. Using multiple t-tests to compare experimental error, ultimately hindering the results. ANOVA provides a way to simultaneously compare multiple means, without the elevated experimental error. more than two means from the same set of data is possible, but it creates an increased risk of Comparing Multiple Groups For this discussion, begin by creating an example of a research situation that would involve...

Title: Development of an Adhesion Assay and Characterization of an Adhesion-Deficient Mutant of Pseudomonas fluorescens RESULTS Bacterial adhesion to sand columns. In the initial column assays with soil-and-sand mixtures, P. fluorescens PfO-1 and E. coli SLH25 had the highest and lowest adhesion values, respectively. Therefore, the sand column assay was optimized to yield the greatest difference in percent adhesion for these two strains. PfO-1 bacteria grown in minimal medium to the logarithmic phase were washed and suspended in either minimal...
