Task1. Write a brief introduction about the business that you have chosen and its nature.

Ans.: I have chosen business of food services. It is basically to offer traditional food to customers. It is located in city areas. Keeping in mind current peoples need and their desire to taste delicious traditional food. This place will have most popular and most liked food dishes. As people today are more likely involved in fast food, continental dishes etc., this place will give them a chance to have their favourite food with best quality.

Task2. Describe any two information systems for management support in this business?

Ans.: There are various information systems for management support depending upon the different functions; following are two important information systems for management.

1. Manufacturing information system: it basically involves maintaining quality throughout the production process. Customers need and preference is always changing. Hence, it also involves flexibility which means making necessary adjustment as per the customer preference change.
2. Financial information system: This involves keeping track of all the transaction related to inflow and outflow of money and also about working capital and assets and liabilities. Which further take into account records related to stocks and inventory.

Task3. Describe two examples of competitive strategy being used by this business?

Ans.: As we have considered food service business we can use below best strategies in order to be competitive.

1. Cost leadership: This strategy is best suitable for our business as we are targeting large customers and also we are keeping the prices moderate as per the principles of cost leadership. Along with this we have to make sure that we sufficient amount of capital in our business. The main focus is to build internally strong business.
2. Cost focus: As our business is currently focuses on a particular niche and as cost focus strategy says that you should focus on dynamics of market and maintain low cost.

Task4. Explain any one application of decision support system to gain competitive advantage in this business?

Ans.: Decision support system is basically developed for the purpose of decision making and they are developed based on the collection of data. Decisions are basically made based on the data or analysis drawn by comparing predicted data and actual data. It basically analyzes large data accumulated in the system. This basically helps decision makers to work with ease without having any complications in decision making. Decision support system also helps to provide particular data which is required at that point of time. Considering the current business of food industry decision support system will help to gather all the collected data and to make decisions related to marketing business, new technologies to install, targeting specific audience etc. Hence, this system will help to make appropriate decision which will ensure success in business by achieving set targets.

Ans.: Transaction processing systems is a need for business. It is basically any device which creates better user experience. Ans.: In order to grow our food business we have to keep in mind above drafted point.
