Personality is an important individual characteristic, which explains why many airline companies try to estimate the personality profiles of job applicants and employees. One of the personality dimensions favoured by airline companies is the Five-factor Model of personality. a) Explain the Five-factor Model. b) Discuss what personality traits (of this model) you would consider to be the most suitable for staff members serving customers on the front-line, such as check-in staff and flight attendants.

a. The five-factor model of personality is described as the set of five trait domains or dimensions that are called big five. It is important to mention that the big five traits are neuroticism, conscientiousness, agreeableness, openness to experience, and extraversion.

b. The personality traits of this model that would be most suitable for the staff members that are serving customers on the front line are traits like agreeableness and conscientiousness. The agreeableness trait emphasize on traits like politeness and cooperative instead of being rude and antagonistic. This trait is highly useful for the front line staff members because they can be cooperative and polite with the passengers. Seconldy, conscientiousness are the individuals that orderly and focus on tasks. It is important to mention that front line staff members need to be task focused and must be orderly to complete tasks in a proper manner.
