Answer #1

A golf green that is a perfect circle:

VOLUME OF PERFECT CIRCLE = AREA OF PERFECT CIRCLE X DEPTH OF PERFECT CIRCLE

dfH+mF9lQGEAAAAASUVORK5CYII=X H

                = KdlsC06r8Awuv0K41L2QAAAABJRU5ErkJggg==     (here 1 ft = 12 inches, therefore 21 inches = 1.75 ft)

                = 2199.115 ft3

                        = 62.272 m3

Soil is contained in a flower bed:

Given dimensions = 5 feet X 20 feet ( Hence it is rectangular cross section)

                Depth = 21 inches = 1.75 ft

Volume of a flower bed = 5 x 20 x 1.75

                                                = 175 ft3

                                                = 4.95545 m3

Soil is contained in 1 acre of soil to the same depth:

                1 acre = 43560 ft2

                Depth = 21 inches = 1.75 ft

Volume = 1 acre area x depth

                = 43560 x 1.75

                = 76230 ft3

                = 2158.5932 m3
