Answer #1

Software Application: Product Ranking System

Overview : This software will rank the products on E-commerce website on the basis of reviews provided by users and will display the relevant product to the visitors. It' be a conversion enhancing technology powered by data.

In this system requirement will be gathered from the Ecommerce website owner as well as the customers.

Requirement Gathering Technique:

1) Questionnaires: The technique is an electronic or some time paper based approach of collecting needs from stakeholders. Questionnaires are distributed among stakeholders. Questionnaires contains all the questions relevant per a particular process. Questionnaires are very good method to gather requirements from remote locations. Questionnaires are appropriate method to gather input from a very large number of people.

In  Product Ranking System we need to gather the problem that end user face while shopping on Ecommerce website and we will try to understand the shopping pattern of visitors. These questions will help us to understand how relevant products can help to improve shopping experience of end user. As end user of the ecommerce website would be from different location, so this technique of requirement gathering will help us to collect data from remote locations

2) Observation: In this technique, BA(business Analyst) gathers requirements through observing the processes of current system(website in our case). It helps him to understand the entire system and requirements associated with it. It’s always beneficial to participate in the actual work process to understand and capture requirements.

In Product Ranking System this technique will be useful. We will observe the complete behaviour of website, to understand the problem faced by end users and how relevant product can help in increasing conversion on website.
