Answer #1

For a converging lens, an object located from infinity to the focal distance F (regions 1 and 2) forms a REAL INVERTED image located on the OPPOSITE side side of the lens as the object.

Farther away in region 1 (between infinity and 2F), the image size is SMALLER THAN the object size.

When the object is located exactly at 2F, the image size is EQUAL TO the object size.

Closer to the lens in region 2 (between 2F and F), the image size is LARGER THAN the object size.

You have a camera in which the lens is a combination of a diverging lens of focal length 120mm and a converging lens of focal length 42mm. The two are mounted 60mm apart, and the converging lens is the one closer to the camera body. TO focus the image produced on the sensor in the camera body, you move the pair of lenses closer to or farther from the sensor, keeping the distance between the lenses fixed at 60mm. suppose...

An object is located at a distance of 6 cm from a thin converging lens with focal length of 2 cm. A diverging lens is located 4 cm from the converging lens and 10 cm from the object. The diverging lens has a focal length of -3 cm. Note: To handle a multiple lens system, we treat them independently. We first find the image created by the first lens. We then use the image from the first lens to act...
