Answer #1

1)

Avarage rate of reaction is avarage for reaction rate during particular time intervel

Avarage rate = ∆[Conc] /∆t

Concencentration of Cl2 at initial = 0

Concemtration Cl2 after 19.0minutes =

(7.28 ×10-1mol/250ml) × 1000ml = 2.912M

Avarage rate = 2.912M/19.0min

Avarage rate = 1.53 ×10-1M/min

Note : Given mole values of Cl2 not clear to see , if entered value is wrong correct the value and recalculate.

2)

∆[concentration] = 6.20×10-4M - 3.14 ×10-4M = 3.06 ×10-4M

∆t = 35 days

Avarage rate of formation of decomposition product = 3.06 ×10-4M/35days = 8.74×10-6M/day

Therefore

Avarage rate of decomposition of insectiside =

8.74×10-6M/day
