There are four unknown mesh cur- rents and hence you will obtain four equations for these four unknowns. 8. Rework the previous problem but, prior to writing the mesh equations, con- vert the 8 A source in parallel with Rį to its Thévenin equivalent and convert the combination of R3, R8, and the 10 V source to its Thévenin equivalent. There are now three unknown mesh currents. You should, of course, obtain the same value for ir so this problem provides a check on your solution to the previous problem (and vice versa).
