The roles of System Architecture:

• To describe the sub systems and modules of the system and also to describe the top level functions of the system to be developed.
• To describe the functionalities in the environment where the system going to be operational.
• To improve the high level function of the system understandability.
• The system architecture performed prior to system engineering will give a better system engineering procedure execution.
• In brief SA will describe “how” the goal system goal can be achieved.

About going for EA:

• The enterprise architecture (EA) can be used to describe the organization in different perspectives, in terms of business, resources that are required to handle the requirements and information.
• The adoption of EA will enhance the delivery of better value to the customers.
• The system architecture comes under application architecture and it is a subset of EA, thus EA can provide the functionalities associates with it also.
• EA provides a strategic view about what is needs to be done to achieve the goal.
• Thus going for EA will enhance the ability to achieve the business goals in all relevant perspectives.
