Question
Could you please help me with this problem:
police scientist fires a 4.5 kg rifle. When fired, the gun recoils, hits the scientists shoulder and stops in 0.32 seconds. The 20 gram bullet fired by the gun moves at constant speed across the room, then passes through a 10 kg ballistic pendulum. The bullet passes through the pendulum, emerging at 80 m/s. The pendulum, which is on a 1.2 m long cord, swings up to an angle of 8° after being hit. Find 3. A a) the speed of the bullet when leaving the gun b) the force of the gun on the scientists shoulder

please help asap im confused on how to find the solution. could someone show the work along with the solution? As shown in the figure below, a bullets fired at and passes through a piece of target paper suspended by a massless string. The bullet has a mass m, speed before the collision with the target, and a speed (0.466) after passing through the target. Aber The collision is inelastic and during the collision, the amount of energy lost is...

Help please Chapter 15, Problem 009 When a .22-caliber rifle is fired, the expanding gas from the burning gunpowder creates a pressure behind the bullet. This pressure causes the force that pushes the bullet through the barrel. Suppose the barrel has a length of 0.611 m and an opening whose radius is 2.75 x 10-3 m. A bullet (mass = 2.6 x 10-3 kg) has a speed of 401 m/s after passing through this barrel. Ignore friction and determine the...
