Answer #1

In asci, the products of meiosis are present together as tetrad.
In the first division segregation pattern, also known as MI pattern, there will be crossing
over between the gene and the centromere. Simultaneously the two alleles segrergate in first
division into two distinct nuclei. This results in production of 2:2 pattern.
Similarly, in the second division segregation pattern, also known as the MII pattern, there
will be a crossing over between the gene and the centromere. Simultaneously the two alleles
separate out into distinct nuclei inthe second division.
This produces the 2:2:2:2 patterns.
