pattern, there will be crossing
over between the gene and the centromere. Simultaneously the two

division into two distinct nuclei. This results in production of

Similarly, in the second division segregation pattern, also known
as the MII pattern, there
will be a crossing over between the gene and the centromere.
Simultaneously the two alleles
separate out into distinct nuclei inthe second division.
This produces the 2:2:2:2 patterns.
