Answer #1

Media in general contribute to the perpetuation of inequality in many ways. That is, it can be seen that it portrays certian gender roles which are adopted by society at large and sticks to these roles, rather than breaking them. For example, an advertisement of s cooking utensil is more often demonstrated by a female than a male, and those regarding machines or cars are portrayed by males. This is fine in order to Target the audience but also creates a sense of stereotypes regarding gender roles in the society.
