Does violence in the media cause violence in real life???
After reading "Factors that Contribute to Violence" on page 309 of the textbook, consider the following:
How do advertisements, television shows, video games, movies, music, etc. portray violence in our society today? Cite 3 specific examples. What are the consequences of this portrayal? Do you believe it causes violence in real life? Why or why not?
Homework Answers
All its depend upon how seriously the individual takes the media in terms of TV shows , advertisements ,movies ,music etc . It is a contradictory question , it have influence on the real life and also not based upon how you perceive the media shows . We can say that 70% of it has influence on the real life while 30% does not . Many people are dead fan of some of the TV actors and actresses that they follow them blindly and create mess and issuea in real life . Teenagera are the ones who follow the media the moat in terms fashion , sports , actions movies , etc . They imitate what is shown in the media in real life without knowing it's effects causing many problems like violence in the family , society and community because it's all against the social norms . Some of the examples are :-
- Murder cases = people get to know how to prepare for a murder and copy what was shown in the media and commit it .
- Acid attack to girlfriend has become one of the trends now , if a girl does not say yes then the boy will throw acid on them so that they are not for any one else .
- Teenagers imitating the college life as shown in the media , having alcohol , parties , drug usages , sex etc .
