Answer #1

Developmental milestones are very important in the growing up of a newborn. Achievement of each milestone are characterized by certain age. If it is not achieved according to the common norm, then that can be an indicator of later abnormalities.

One such milestone is the infant's ability to sit and crawl in around 9 months. They pulls to standing positions, the eye hand coordination begins around the same time. This time period might vary to one or two months from infant to infant. There is a common saying that strech your legs after sitting. This is what exactly happening here. The baby is able to stand and walk in the later stage only because it could sit and crawl in this age. If the baby is not left free in the floor it may not br able to achieve this. There might be several biological constraints for the baby. But inspite of that it will achieve the milestones provided proper nourishment and environment are available for them. It is also the age of exploring. When they start crawling infant try to explore new surroundings and try to reach out to whatever is visible to it. While in this stage, the infant always will have an urge to mimic what its elders does. They try to catch up the speed of how people around them are walkingm this will inprove its motor and spatial skills and improve the skill to walk in later stage. This is also the time when an infant can discriminate between its parents and others. They also become socially interactive and start playing some minor games. So it is an important milestone. If it is delayed, then there is a chance that baby might develop.disorders like autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, learning disability etc.
