Hypothalamus

Anterior pituitary

The hypothalamus is a part of brain which is located in the anterior and inferior to the thalamus. Hypothalamus functions as neural and endocrine it is the main part of brain which produce and secreting many hormones.

It is also known as adenohypophysis and pars anterior. It is basically located at the base of the brain. It secrete some hormone but these hormone regulated by the hypothalamus.

Hypothalamus is made of neural tissue

The anterior pituitary formed by the epithelial tissue.

Hypothalamus secretes some important hormone like Thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH), Corticotrophin-releasing hormone (CRH),

Somatostatin, Growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH), Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) , Dopamine, vasopressin and

Oxytocin.

Anterior pituitary secretes some important hormone like   Adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH), Prolactin (PRL), Growth hormone (GH),

Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), Luteinising hormone (LH), Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and Melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH).

Hypothalamic some time regulated the hormones which are secreted by anterior pituitary neurons, the hormone which are secreted by neurons enter into the anterior pituitary via blood vessels by using a capillaries bridge Within the infundibulum, this bridge connects the hypothalamus and anterior pituitary which is called the hypophyseal portal system.

Posterior pituitary actually producing any hormone self, it secretes some hormone which are produced and regulated by hypothalamus like, , vasopressin and

Oxytocin is produced by neurons of paraventricular nucleus and vasopressin is produced by neurons of the supraoptic nucleus These two hormones travel by the axons into axon terminals in the posterior pituitary. This ADH hormone is regulated by osmoreceptors which is present in hypothalamus.
