Answer #1

45.C a mixture of maternal and paternal chromosomes .

The meiosis I starts with the diploid parental cells and forms the 4 haploid cells after cell division. They contain paternal and maternal chromosomes and after recombination (exchange of gene) ,the daughter cells get the combination of the maternal and maternal chromosomes. The sister chromatid is generated during S phase ,each chromosomes duplicates to form sister chromatids. In meiosis II, the formation of 4 daughter cells occurs i.e.the daughter cell receives one -fourth the amount of DNA that is in parent nucleus.During mitosis, the daughter cell receives the same number of chromosomes as that of diploid cell.

46.S phase .

In eukaryotic cell cycle, in prophase - chromatin condenses into chromosome,G1 phase -cell growth, G2 phase -growth and cell prepares for mitosis ,M phase - cell divides (mitosis).

Simulate mitosis by drawing and include the following: Instructions: Set up your cell. The cell you start with should be: A diploid cell It should contain 2 homologous pairs of chromosomes (the cell has more chromosome pairs, but we are just looking at 2 of them) It should be in G1 of the cell cycle, before DNA replication occurs Be sure to show 2 genes that are both heterozygous . Can someone please check my answer? Understanding chromosome number and behavior during cell division is an important concept in genetics. Fill out the chart below for each phase of mitosis in terms of N (where N = haploid number). For example, humans have a haploid number of 23. There are 46 chromosomes (2N) present in prophase of mitosis. Each chromosome is present in its replicated form (i.e. as sister chromatids) so there will be 2 chromatids per chromosome and the...

Unit 3 Study Resource Meiosis • Process by which diploid cells create haploid cells NOT part of the cell cycle > only some cells ever undergo meiosis During meiosis I, homologous chromosomes line up to allow them to be separated into two new cells o They can become "tangled" during this phase, which leads to crossing-over (rearranging the alleles) O Result of meiosis I is two non-identical haploid cells Meiosis Il looks very similar to mitosis, in that sister chromatids...
