a. Stakeholder Analysis:- A project involves many people who are called stakeholders. Stakeholder analysis identifies these people before beginning and groups them according to different criteria like level of participation, approving authority, etc. and determining how the involvement and communication will be best for the project. It is beneficial to conduct a stakeholder analysis before handling a critical project as we can have an idea with whom we are going to work and how to get the best output from them. it also done to identify key individuals, to get early alignment among team member or to address a conflict.
b. SWOT Analysis:- SWOT analysis is a strategic planning technique and stands for strength, weakness, opportunity and threat analysis where all the parameters for the mentioned category are listed. Action plan are made for each category specially for overcoming weakness and threats. Regarding opportunity part it is the decision of management if they are willing to take the risk for investing.
c. Objective Analysis:- It helps the stakeholders imagine what the changed situation will be, by identifying the end to end logical relationships. It helps by formulating objective tree diagram. It basically gives us a visualization of the future outcome, so that the stakeholders can be prepared for it and it anyone suggest any modification if can be discussed with the proper approving authority.
d. Project Selection:- It is the process to assess each project idea and select the project with highest priority. Projects are selected based on the brief idea and future benefits as most of the projects do not contain a firm plan. It is necessary to do project selection to save time and money as it is not feasible to practically make every project before drawing a conclusion.
e. Project Design Matrix:- It consists a detailed layout of the project. It mentions the end to end process and other topics like when to , what are the technical requirements and approving authority. It consists of the sub system and information exchange and dependency pattern.
f. Work-plan:- It is an outline of set of goals and processes by which an output is received. The process of doing the work is also mentioned. It is basically a sub set of Project design matrix that addresses how to do a work.
g. Monitoring & Evaluation:- It is the checking phase where we do a check if we are aligned with our desired result or not. If we notice any deviation we can change the process or apply a new approach which could save time and money. It is necessary by the top management to have a check on the project update, if it will be completed on time or if the desired result will be achieved or not.
