answer-

I think Power is something which is necessary to all managers to have but it all depends on the use of that power. so the intention of the managers or political person that how they will use that power. they would use for welfare and Good or for bad purposes.there are five types of power that manager or top executives has.

1. Coercive Power-This form of power is based upon the idea of coercion. This means that someone is forced to do something against their will. The main objective of coercion is compliance.

2. Reward Power-This type of power involves the ability of individuals to delegate matters they do not wish to do to other people and to reward them for this

3. Legitimate Power-This form of power gives the ability to link certain feelings of obligation or notion of responsibility to the management.Legitimate power is usually based on a role.

4. Referent Power-This form of power is about management based on the ability to administer to someone a sense of personal acceptance or approval. The leader in this form of power is often seen as a role model.

5. Expert Power-This form of power is based on in-depth information, knowledge or expertise. These leaders are often highly intelligent and they trust in their power to fulfill several organizational roles and responsibilities.

if manager does not have power then they will not be able to manager their workforce and their business because they would not have influence on them which is very necessary to have.I think if there is political environment is creating in organization then it leads to poor efficiency and lack of performance because politics in organization makes bad culture in organization. employees gets manipulated, show poor work and there are chances of strike so political conduct is not acceptable at all. Manager with their power should try to remove such conduct.

i think , there is Famous person who is the CEO of TOMS shoe company Blake Mycoskie who uses his power for the welfare of society and its business as well. he uses his power as CEO and owner of business to donate shoes, treat children and make society good. he also donates millions of dollars to stop gun violence.

another famous person is Martin Winterkorn who is a former chairman of the board of directors of Volkswagen AG, the parent company of the Volkswagen Group, and former chairman of the supervisory board of Audi and Porsche Automobil Holding SE. he uses his legitimate power as CEO to pass the cheat emission test and risk the life of many people by selling such car in market which cause violation of environmental laws and injured and killed many people.
