Answer #1
  • Divine command theory of Ethics says that whatever is made morally good, that is commanded by God,and whatever has been made morally wrong is because God forbids it.Under this theory, the rightness of an act depends upon whether is it in accordance with God's commands.Moral status of a fetus has been argued related with abortion.
  • According to this theory,it can be argued that it is the God's will for pregnancy to happen.A woman should opt for abortion according to divine command theory as it is something which doesnt aligns with the God's command. So abortion is bad, because God forbids it and pregnacy is good, because God commands it.A fetus has moral right and those need to be protected rather than killed,so divine command theory considers abortion unacceptable,as God would not allow to kill an unborn fetus.
  • This theory doesnt considers the needs of the individual, but rather based on the rules put forth by God.The Bible doesnt uses the word abortion and considers life to be precious. If a woman needs to be make decision to abort her child or not,and if she follows this theoy, her decision would not be based on her own self interest but rather the will of God.If its based on the will of god, then preganacy would be considered a blessing, and taking away life through abortion a sin.
  • Abortion has been a debatable topic for decades. Some are for it and some against. But if a woman is taking a decision to abort her child due to her health conditions, then she should make that decision rather than following the higher power and risking her life.
