Based on the interview, Chance developed an interesting hypothesis to test the difference between first generation students versus non-first generation students. However, Chance’s hypothesis was not significant when he tested it using a quantitative research method with a sample of 800 students. Explain why Chance’s hypothesis may have not found to be significant.

Since quantitative research method focuses on numbers and not every emotion/ response can be quantified as numbers, hence the above methodology might not have been significant in conducting hypothesis tests.

Instead, qualitative research method can be used to conduct hypothesis test for the above scenario.
