To protect privacy, companies that provide Web searching services to members or to the public must not store user search queries in a way that links the queries of any one person together for more than one week. (10 points)

I will completely the support the new law which has been introduced for this issue. If I consider interms of business point of view, I must oppose this rule. But, if I consider in terms of privacy of a end-user point-of-view, I must support this new law.

PRIVACY has become a big question in today’s internet world. Recent surveys say that more than 80% of the user’s searches have been captured and made use of it to improve the business and strategies. If I search something in search engines, I am keep getting advertisements, pop-ups in external applications installed in my mobile phone. How does other applications know what I searched for in some other search engine? Is everything interconnected and interlinked? These questions will come up in the mind.

If we do not permanently store the user search data, it will help a lot to reduce the privacy concerns. The data of the user may not be misused later. Targeted marketing to force the buyer to acquire something which they don’t really need at later might not happen due to this new law. It benefits the end-users a lot in protecting their privacy among this competitive market world.
