Answer #1

Agents of socialization refer to the person gaining knowledge from his peers, surroundings, and families. The environment plays a vital role in a person’s ability to communicate with the communities or groups. Sociologists, academicians, and anthropologists refer to the concept in which people inherit the rules and regulations of society.

For example, socialization refers to cultures, traditions, and languages based on a person’s identity and ethnicity.

The agents of socialization are

  1. Schools
  2. Religion
  3. Workplace
  4. Peer groups
  5. Family
  6. Mass media
  7. Government

Effect of school on my personal life: The school plays an important role in the socialization and behavioral aspects of a person. The child experiences different behavioral changes because of interaction with other students. The environment and surroundings affect the way a child thinks and feels about society and groups of people. The children in school represent different ethnicities and cultures and speak different languages. Gender is also a factor that influences children’s behavior.

For example, when I was in school, we had a different seating arrangement for boys and girls. There was a gender bias seen in my school. We had different groups and communicated with the same gender.

I observed that children spoke various languages and represented different ethnic groups. Thus, it was a great experience to interact with other students.

Effect of college on my personal life: The college plays a vital role in the changes in the adolescent’s behavior. Adolescents experience feelings of compassion, kindness, anger and other behavioral aspects while interacting with other people.

Since people become mature, they develop analytical, creativity and reasoning skills.

For example, during college, I experienced a different situation in contrast to the school. I noticed that students are open-minded and they mix with the opposite gender. Also, I felt that the students were more open to taking part in various activities such as group discussion, sports, debates, and extempore.

Conclusion: Socialization affects the way a person feels and thinks about the changes in the social environment. There is an impact on the person’s cognitive behavior and thought process because of the agents of socialization.
