describe the movement of volvox colony and unicellular euglena. what structure(s) found on euglena is use for locomotion?
Euglena moves with the help of flagella, a hair- like structure which functions as a motor for motion. The flagellum is situated at the front end & spins repeatedly for the movement of the organism in water. The same mechanism is used by the volvox for movement. They are a colony of 500-20,000 volvox, so they move in a coordinated way so that they can move in same direction. Flagellum is the structure that helps euglena for locomotion.
hope the answer helps.

What is the significance of the gene and protein differences found between Volvox and Chlamydamonas? (e.g., which proteins? what kind of difference?) How do mitochondria enable eukaryotes to reach a level of genetic complexity unattainable by prokaryotes? Describe how the legume-bacteria relationship (symbiosome) compares to our classical view of organelle formation (i.e., mitochondria and plastids). What is similar? What is missing?
LAB: Phylum Chlorophyta: Green Algae The Chlorophyta are a diverse group of microalgae and macroalgae, that are most common in freshwater with a significant number of marine representatives. The green algae show a wide range of sexual reproduction and range from unicellular to truly multicellular varieties. They share most of their characteristics with members of the kingdom Plantae and are considered the primary ancestors of terrestrial plants. Observe prepared slides and living specimens of Chlamydomonas, Volvox, Oedogonium and Spirogyra. Chlamydomonas....
