Answer #1

Euglena is a genus that comprises single-cell flagellated eukaryotes. The flagella of Euglena help in locomotion. Their body is covered by the thick structure known as a pellicle. the main function of the pellicle is to provide strength and flexibility. Euglena contains a single nucleus and a centrally located large chloroplast. When light is present chloroplast helps them to photosynthesize and make their food. This is autotrophy. But in the absence of light, they capture other aquatic organisms and use them as food. This is heterotrophic mode of nutreition. So Euglena shows both mode of nutrition. It contains food vacuole that helps to store and digest the food. Euglena live in fresh and brackish water that is rich in organic matter.
