Kevis Family RV

Kevis Family RV is a dealership that sells new recreational vehicles and travel trailers. A customer works with a salesperson to negotiate a vehicle purchase. A sales invoice is completed by the salesperson when a purchase has been agreed upon. The invoice includes full customer information, information on the trade-in vehicle (if any), the trade-in allowance, information on the purchased vehicle, the final negotiated price, plus any applicable taxes and license fees. If the customer requests dealer-installed options, they are listed on the invoice as well.

Customers are assigned a customer ID when they make their first purchase from Kevis. Name, address, and phone number are recorded for the customer. The trade-in vehicle is described by a serial number, make, model, and year. Dealer-installed options are described by an option code, description, and price.

Each invoice lists just one customer.

Every invoice must be filled out by only one sales person.

Each invoice only lists one vehicle.

A customer may decide to have no options added to the vehicle or may choose to add many options.

A customer may trade in no more than one vehicle on a purchase of a new vehicle.

Other System Requirements:

The salesperson uses the system to create a new sales invoice. Sales invoice record can be changed or canceled.

New vehicle and trade-in vehicle records can be created. When new vehicles arrive, a new vehicle record is created. Included in the new vehicle record are a vehicle serial number, name, model, year, manufacturer, and base cost. Vehicle records can also be updated or deleted.

The system will store and manage customer information.

The system will also manage the information of sales staff. New salesperson record can be added, existing salesperson record can be updated or deleted.

Tasks:

  1. Develop a use case diagram for the above system. Use case diagram can be completed using any program (such as LucidChart online) or drawn manually
  2. Develop one use case narrative for one of the use cases only. You may choose any use case.  The narrative should include the following sections: Name, Actor, Description, Preconditions, Postconditions, Basic course of action (main path), and Alternate course of action.
