The corn farmers cannot replant seeds produced by one year's corn crop if they want the same result rhe following year because rhe seed won't breed true. Hybrids are made by crossing two highly inbred parent plant . Every seed that is planted has the exact same genetics. But as the plant grows and plants are fertilized , hybrid plant start breeding with each other. This creates a lot of variability in the genetics of the corn kernels (seed). So the crop from these seed will be inconsistent. And the overall yield will be less. Often the seeds are generally sterile.
Genetically modified crops are also know as transgenic crop. It contains gene (s) that has been artificially inserted instead of the plant acquiring it through pollination. They are the plants that has novel combination of genetic material obtained through the use of modern biotechnology. The GM crops generally shows desired traits and are more stress tolerant. Example- BT cotton
Where as the traditional plant breeding methods is the development or improvement of cultivars using conservative tools for manipulating plant genome within the natural genetic boundaries of the species. In this, qualitative traits are easier to breed than qualitative trait.

1. Describe the functions of the following reagents in extraction of DNA from corn meal: proteinase K; guanidine HCI; SDS 2. Why is the ratio of the OD at 260 and 280 nm used to estimate DNA purity? 3. In one paragraph, summarize basic principles of PCR technique in your own words. List all the reagents you will need to perform a PCR experiment. Does this method tell you what genetic modifications were made? If yes, describe how you can...
PLEASE ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS: 1.What is true of tRNA (transfer RNA)? A they contain an anti-codon B they carry an amino acid C they can interpret the genetic code D all of these are true 2. How can transcription factors bound to distant enhancers influence gene expression? A the transcription factors can slide along the DNA until they get to the gene's promoter B DNA can loop, bringing these proteins into contact with the gene's promoter C both of...
