Some analysts feel that one of the most important benefits of digital marketing is that marketers and customers can share information. That is, consumers can learn about products, brands, and retailers much more readily through online media.

Have you ever looked up product information online? Have you used customer reviews of product you are considering buying? Have you ever participated in online contests? Have you ever complained online about a bad product or service? Given these new options, how will traditional marketing methods change? Do they give more power to consumers?

Answer #1

It is true that while doing online shopping ,we do looked up product information ,in order to get insight about the product and its company ,to get more knowledge about the product for example how long will it run ,the warranty period etc.We also tend to used customer reviews in order to get assurance ,whether we are buying right product or not through other customers review ,their experience with the product, whether they are satisfied or not. When it comes to online contest,we do participate in that so that we could win some vouchers or any gifts or offers as suggested by the company. Not only this,we do complain about the bad product or service so that we get refund or they make it right through repairs or something and this is very essential as well because  on the basis of that we decide whether we should buy the product or not in the future.

In case of traditional methods, though it is very competitive  but not an impossible task for them as in this case we can provide our customers the personal touch which can never be found in online marketing ,they can also be aware about their likes and dislike ,what type of product do they buy ,their buying capacity ,their taste and preferences ,their human nature ,whether they are too friendly or mostly reserve type of person ,all these factors help the traditional marketers to get a competitive advantages and edge over the online marketers.

They can attract and retain their existing customers through new offers and discount and after sales service and most importantly they can develop a personal bond with them which is ever lasting ,which is absent in online marketing.
