The use of emotional motivators is a part of neuromarketing. Neuromarketing is that aspect of marketing which focuses on analysing the emotional response of a consumer to a brand and tap on the same in the upcoming marketing strategy of the company.

The similarity between McDonald's and Chipotle is that both understand and leverage on the strengths of emotional motivators to connect with the consumers and promote their brand.

The difference between McDonald's and Chipotle in this regard is that McDonald's caters to the tool of emotional motivators in its advertisements and promotional messages. Chipotle, on the other hand, uses storytelling videos to invoke emotions in the minds of the consumers. McDonald's is considered one of the first adopters of the emotional motivators while Chipotle is considered as a follower.
