An example of primary groups are members of a family whereas an an example of secondary groups are co-workers. Families are good examples of primary groups because members share close, personal, enduring relationships. In fact, families are marked by members' concern for one another, in shared activities and culture. Whereas, co-workers serve as appropriate examples for secondary groups because they are less personal, act to perform functions and involves exchanges of explicit commodities.
