The American style of Handshake

Business and also the first time you see anyone is a handshake. In other countries other people lock hands. The American style is European pattern oriented. Many men in the US aren't willing to make a decent handshake.

There are TWO laws which are very relevant. The first of these is a no brainer. Using Dried hands to shake hands. If the hands are damp from sweat, they should be wiped, washed, dried, licked dry. Do it! If your palms are sticky please don't lock palms with anyone. YUCHHHHHH. The easiest way to do so is to dry them gently on your trousers as you rise to shake.

Second, your handshake needs to be firm, strong and confident particularly if you're a male. I recommend you do the same for a woman but she has an choice. Delicate and gentle, or strong depending on the occasion and the person with whom she shakes hands.

Adjustment – For example, when someone like a boss shakes hands with lets say – a new employee may often get anxious and close too early. Re-adjustment is up to manager or higher-positioned person. That is achieved by grasping the wrist gently with the other hand and moving the hand slowly and rapidly into the opposing hand's webbing. Maybe the boss says something like, "Let's try again." The underling's response is ("wow, he / she's a cool guy!").

The Snap-young adults had a hug when I was in class. It used to be called the snap. Then grab the person's hand like a conventional handshake, then curl into what appears like two men attempting to do an eagle outline, then draw one another with their fingertips tightly bent inward like a knife, move away making a cracking sound between the two contrasting palms. Many groups like Kiwana's or Fraternities have handshakes in secret. These I can teach you because they're ... secret?!

The Obama Bump – He didn't develop it but he made it fun to lock hands again by bumping two fists against each other gently. Often, Barack and his wife Michelle are seen giving each other the handshake brush. I always love it. I just think it's sweet.

Handshakes in US play a vital role in non verbal communication. It gives an idea about how you percive about a particular event and how prepared you are about a particular event.
