Using one of the research studies you have already reviewed for this class (NOT ONE FROM THE TEXTBOOK), identify explain whichat data analytical procedures were utilized to answer the research question or hypothesis (e.g., regression, ANOVA, t-test). Explain and why this/these techniques were appropriate given the research question and the data/measures used in the study (hint: # of variables, and level of measurement of variables). Be sure to state the research question, what was measured and how it was measured, and the statistical technique used to answer the research question or test the hypothesis.

Answer #1

Based on your question regarding analytical procedures some useful answers are given below;

a. Regression is a statistical procedure to study the impact on dependent variable by one or more independent variables. Regression techniques is used for predications

b. ANOVA test gives an understanding whether to accept or reject a model (F test is the criteria)

c. t test is used for comparing two different groups.

    Design your own study using one of the following statistical tests: one-sample t-test, paired samples t-test, independent samples t-test, or ANOVA. Give (1) your sample, (2) research question, (3) the appropriate test with the null and research hypotheses, and (4) the two variables, including (a) how you would measure both variables and (b) each variable’s level of measurement. Be creative. Do not include data in your response.

    Create a research question using the General Social Survey that can be answered by multiple regression. What is your research question? What is the null hypothesis for your question? What research design would align with this question? What dependent variable was used and how is it measured? What independent variable is used and how is it measured? What other variables were added to the multiple regression models as controls? What is the justification for adding the variables? If you found...

    Below are descriptions of some research studies. Each description contains sufficient information to determine the correct statistical test to use. Your task is 1) to determine which is the correct test, 2) to perform that test using our five-step hypothesis testing procedure, and 3) to make a decision about the null hypothesis using the results of the test. Choose your tests from these options: single-sample i test dependent-measures / test independent-measures t test Please report your answers in the following...

    Research is an integral part of all professional fields. Designing a research study can be a complicated task that can be simplified if the appropriate techniques can be identified. This assignment will give you the opportunity to design an experiment, including finding relevant prior research, determining the appropriate sample, data analysis techniques, and discuss the results you hope to see. Working from the topic chosen earlier in the topic selection, you will be designing your own statistical study. In a...

    Review the following business scenario and complete. Recently a major toy manufacturer was challenged by its management team to grow sales of its top brand. The brand's marketers faced a big challenge and were considering a bold (and potentially risky) change to help shift the brands growth trend upward. Consumer research was carefully crafted to understand shoppers'reactions to the revised packages. 1) In a paragraph, explain what this company might be interested in using marketing research techniques to discover. 2)...

    q27 A research team is studying a new pain medication for patients suffering from fibromyalgia. Patients suffering from chronic pain as a result of fibromyalgia were divided into two categories: Treatment and Placebo. Patients in the treatment group were injected with the new drug while patients in the placebo group were injected with saline solution. Neither the patients, nor the health care practitioners admininstering the study knew who was receiving the actual drug. After two weeks the patients were asked...
