Prepare 150.0 ml of an iodine solution with a concentration of 0.06 g/mL from the bottle of the 0.12 g/mL iodine solution. What is the final volume? Note* 1mole=

100 particles so iodine here= 47moles (The iodine solution is made up of I^2(47moles), OH-(1.00481e-7moles), and H+(1.00481e-7moles). You're adding the iodine

solution to 150mL of H20- H+(1.00481e-7moles), and O2(1.00481e-7moles).

Answer #1

Final volume V2 = 150 mL

Final concentration C2 = 0.06 g/mL

Initial concentration C1 = 0.12 g/mL

Initial volume V1 =?

C1 x V1 = C2 x V2

V1 = 0.06*150/0.12

= 75 mL
