Answer #1

Her name is Sofi Baijan, she was born in war-torn Iraq, her parents had migrated to the US to save their life and take shelter for their children and themselves.

Their country was torn apart by missiles and internal disturbances once a beautiful country was torn into pieces, they could smell the burning of flesh, and fire everywhere.

His father was an educated person he used to visit the US for his official tour to his multinational company, he was aware of American culture.. As the war broke out, there was no food and healthcare system, the electricity was disrupted for days together, the survival was difficult. At that time her father migrated to the US with his children. Her father had few friends in the US that is why he decided to move to the US and a branch of his company was in the US.

They took asylum; the government granted him asylum and shelter. She grew up in American culture; she did not remember much of her background and the reason why they had migrated to the US. She had adopted her American culture as her culture, she has American friends, she speaks English, she does speak her language at home, but finds herself more comfortable while conversing in English.

Last summer she had visited her hometown with her family, she was surprised to know that she had taken shelter in the country, that was partly responsible for the destruction of her motherland.

To know more about the fact she started reading the history of her country and invasion by the international army, she came to know about the historical fact concerning her country through books, but her experienced and mouth to mouth story was different. She got confused about what to believe and what not to believe, she left it at that moment and started with the studies in the college.

She was a good athlete, she participated in various events and won the medal for her school, once when she had to compete with an Iraqi athlete she was very sad and confused and did not know what to do, she remembered her father’s words who had told her from the holy book Quran that “one has to be just and honest to the country where they stay, do not cheat on that government if they had helped you in your difficult days and given you shelter”. She was relieved and her empathy towards that Iraq's athletes vanished, in the end, she won the game defeating her Iraqi counterpart.

She has a good friend circle and her friends were very much amused by her behavior because she never used to drink, no drugs and no smoking. She never accepted outing with other boys and did not date with any boy.

'She was very conservative in their eyes, but she feels she is right and she is firm in her belief, she is honest and always honest with her friends, sometimes she acts like a grandmother telling us to abstain from drugs, alcohol, and smoking. In this culture also she can maintain her faith and firm on her action, now she is pursuing higher studies, we are still a good friend to each other.

She has a younger brother who is in his higher school; her parents are down to earth people, God-fearing and very helpful. I remember once my grandmother was very sick and I wanted some help desperately. I immediately phoned Sofi and within five minutes her parents came to my aid and stayed with my grandmother. Now they are the regular visitors who come to spend some time with my grandmother, I have found a great change in my grandmother, she waits for them, and she has started treating her mother as her daughter. She is happy with them.

In fact, Sofi and her family has changed my view towards life, and I find very relaxed and comfortable in their company, otherwise thinking about a family from Iraq was a disturbing thought with Americans, she had changed my viewpoint and strengthened my belief that people are innocent, the environment, politicians, government and corrupt society misguides them otherwise we have same color blood, maybe we are different in physical appearance, faith, and religion, but we have to select right path. She is a young girl but her thoughts are really surprising and I find myself to be lucky to have a friend like her.
