1. Management’s originated from Frederick Winslow Taylor who was obsession with efficiency. His pursuit for efficiency led to the original management theory - Scientific Management. However, Taylor's views are deemed to be very mechanistic. Efforts by Gifford Pinchot and Louis D. Brandeis repackaged Scientific Management with focus on environment and people. The modern management principles borrows ideas from these - to have an eye for efficiency but in a sustainable manner
