Answer #1

Chloroform is commonly used as an agent to free virus particle from host cells and to lyse host cells. As an answer to the question, it actually depends on the type of virus. A virus with lipid envelopes is chloroform sensitive.

So if the viral plate is having lipid envelope then the number of plaques will be less in the plate with chloroform. And more plaques can be seen if there is no chloroform in the plate.

There will not be any significant difference if the virus is not having a lipid envelope!
