Most of the world’s population relies on wheat for food. Research is being conducted to produce wheat with a higher protein content. Design a bio technological approach to improving the amino acid content of wheat.

As per the question of we have to increase the protein content of the wheat so it can be done by using recombinant DNA technology. It is a technique by which a gene of interest from one organism is introduced into the genome of another organism.

We have to select an organism either plant, animal or microorganisms in which their is a gene which codes for the higher protein content ( to which we have to increase in wheat also) . By culturing the cells in the laboratory isolate the DNA from the cell and cut the desired gene sequence from it with the help of various restriction enzymes . On the other side we have to culture the cells of wheat plant also to which we have to introduce these genes of interest. And after introducing the gene sequence coding for the high protein production in the cells of wheat plant, the last step is to culture the transformed cells in laboratory and as a result of plant tissue culture we will get the wheat plantlets having the gene which will produce protein in high content. So it is totally based on RDT that how you select the gene of interest and introduces it in the host's genome .
