Interrupts and exceptions are both a type of halt in the ongoing process or program. The main and basic difference in both of them is that the interrupt is caused by requests from external sources such as keyboard , mouse any other medium etc. whereas exceptions occur due to faults in the program such as wrong instruction or code etc.
